Servant of Darkness

After Rune discovered her lover was unfaithful to her, she ran away in blind anguish with sorrow and pain. She traveled for days with no hope left in her heart, now frail from her weary travel she ended up in an ancient temple lost to time and faded memories. Here she found a source of water for her thirst, but unbeknown to her that the water was tainted by an evil contained within this shrine. That evil was entombed inside a sword in an alter at the back of the temples ritual area. This evil used to be of flesh and blood, but after its earthly form was destroyed by the sword it is enshrined in, it can only exsist as a shadow.

Rune began to have hallucinations from the water she drank, brought on by the powers of the Shadowed Evil. It played upon her fears and sadness, because of her emotional state she was an easy prey to use for its own dark purposes. Using those false illusions to bend her will to its own by showing her the future of her lover and his new wife and children. She began to fall deep under the Shadows control, It tempted her and tempted her to remove the sword from its prison in the alter. She finally removed the sword.

As she removed the sword the ground and forest around the temple began to incinerate, as the power of the Shadow entered her body forever binding her to the sword. But at the same time freeing her from the beast's control over her. Rune now vowed to destroy all those who were unfaithful, since she is now the Servant of the Darkness.
